An exciting opportunity has presented itself to join the Pain Management Team at East & North Herts NHS Trust.
We are a well-established but growing service aiming to improve the pain management experience for patients within the Trust and our local areas.
You will need to possess excellent communication skills, work well within a multi-disciplinary team, be able to show empathy and understanding for a complex patient group with chronic conditions, and also demonstrate acute nursing skills due to the broad variation of duties involved in the role.
We are looking for someone with an interest in Pain Management; Pain Management Nursing Experience is beneficial but not essential.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the provision of high quality, patient-focused care while assessing, developing, and implementing specialist nursing care programmes. You will also be responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff.
1. Day to day tasks will include assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating care as a practitioner with specialist skills.
2. Provide advice and clinical expertise to staff.
3. Provide specialist clinical advice for patients and carers.
4. Carry a caseload and take responsibility for the management of allocated cases.
5. Improve and maintain standards of care within the specialty.
6. Develop the skills of generalist nurses to enable them to provide a high standard of care for patients within the specialty.
7. Liaise with all appropriate members of the multi-disciplinary team.
8. Communicate very sensitive condition-related information to patients and relatives, requiring high levels of empathy and reassurance.
9. Ensure the provision of appropriate verbal and written patient information, thus empowering the patient to make informed decisions.
