A&E Peer Support Workers Band 3 AFC
Lincoln Mental Health Liaison Service are looking for Peer Support Workers to provide 1:1 support for Service Users, who are experiencing emotional distress in the A&E Dept and inpatient wards at Lincoln County Hospital. You must be flexible, demonstrate a non-judgemental attitude, have shared lived experience, and be passionate about promoting hopefulness and positive Mental Health and wellbeing.
The shifts are to be worked flexibly to cover 08:00-22:00hrs Mon.-Fri. and we have part time and full time hours available.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Core 24-hour Service that ensures each service user receives the right support at the right time. The Peer Support Worker role utilises lived experience in a positive way to improve a service user's journey whilst they are engaging with mental health services. This can be achieved through support, compassion, and understanding.
The Peer Support Worker (PSW) will provide one-to-one support for individuals in A&E, to build safe, trusting relationships based on non-judgemental listening and shared lived experience.
The post holder will work under the supervision of a Team Coordinator, Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Substance Misuse Recovery Worker.
Through sharing from their own experiences, peer support workers will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others.
