The opportunity to apply for the substantive role of Ward Manager in the tertiary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at a large teaching hospital.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who can display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
As a key member of the Clinical Management Team, you will work under the professional direction of the Matron for Neonatal and Transitional Care services, Head of Women's and Children’s Nursing, and the Director of Nursing for W&C, Associate Chief Nursing Officer.
You will provide senior leadership, clinical expertise, support, and advice to assure high-quality care provision for infants and families accessing Neonatal Intensive Care Services.
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing nursing and support worker teams.
2. Providing clinical leadership and ensuring infection prevention and control.
3. Maintaining standards of patient care.
4. Acting as a positive role model through effective professional leadership.
5. Conducting performance management of key individuals within the neonatal service.
6. Ensuring that neonatal care is evidence-based and delivered by competent practitioners according to Trust policies and procedures.
