We currently have a vacancy at our head office in Cross Hands for a Senior Accountant. As a key member of our trusted finance team, you will be overseeing the financial reporting across our group of manufacturing companies. Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the finance function across all our manufacturing sites. You will ensure the accurate and timely management of financial processes, from monthly management accounts to statutory returns. This role offers strong prospects for career progression within the medium term, allowing you to expand your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Management Accounting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts for all manufacturing sites, ensuring that they are completed within set timelines. Provide analysis and commentary on financial performance to senior management and the Board of Directors.
* VAT Returns & Statutory Compliance: Complete and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax legislation. Take ownership of ensuring that statutory requirements such as VAT, Corporation Tax and PAYE are met.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Play an active role in the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with General Managers to produce robust, meaningful forecasts.
* Audit Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, coordinating the year-end audit process and ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared in a timely manner for audit completion.
* Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and compliant.
* Fixed Asset Management: Oversee and maintain accurate Fixed Asset registers for all sites, ensuring all assets are correctly accounted for and depreciated as appropriate.
* Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve financial processes.
* Team Support: Work collaboratively with General Managers at each site and provide guidance and support to the wider finance team.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
* Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
* Experience: Relevant experience in a similar financial role, with a strong track record in management accounts preparation and financial reporting.
* Technical Skills: Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using Sage 50 Accounts.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, general managers and external stakeholders.
* Problem Solving: A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to work independently.
* Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail, with a methodical and organised approach to managing financial records.
