Full time, 35 hours per week. Mon-Fri (8am-4pm/9am-5pm) Flexible weekend working.
A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will apply from 8pm to 7am Monday – Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday. This will be implemented on a trial basis.

About the role
As a Deputy Manager (RN) with Leonard Cheshire, you will fully support the Service Manager in the running of the nursing home and deputise in their absence. Providing effective management and supervision of a great team (including nurses and care staff), you will lead with passion and enthusiasm to ensure the service is well run. You will promote positive outcomes for disabled people with a flexible and proactive approach.
We are looking for someone with recent deputy manager experience of working in a care home ideally as they will understand how care home’s function. Complex care knowledge and experience not necessarily ITU. Wound management, tracheostomies, PEG, JEGs, suprapubic catheters, experience of managing residents have seizures. Learning and Physical disability experience. Some knowledge of the CQC Single Assessment Framework.
Also, responsible for monitoring and providing the highest standards of nursing, clinical and personal support to our customers, you will promote independence and choice. You will ensure the service is fully compliant regarding health and safety management, fulfilling statutory obligations and excellent overall service delivery.

To be successful in this role you will have:
1. Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
2. A level of professional development and registration (may include Level 5 Leadership in Health and Social Care qualification).
3. Experience in managing a team of nursing and care staff.
4. Experience of providing direct personal and social care.
5. Experience in working with customers who have physical and/or learning disabilities.
6. Flexibility to work rostered hours.
