We currently have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to work out of our Reading STW site. As the successful candidate, your role will be to perform a range of assigned front-line activities including operation, sampling, testing, routine checks, maintenance and problem-solving to ensure that services are delivered to time, cost and quality standards. In some cases, this may include planned and preventative maintenance of equipment to support the operation of the plant. The role includes daily sampling duties to ensure our effluent quality and process data meet the required standards. As the Process Technician, you will find that no working day is the same. This will provide a very interesting, challenging, and rewarding working environment, and you will receive full training and support for the Health & Safety, technical and process requirements related to the role.
What you’ll be doing as the Process Technician:
1. Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
2. Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to ensure on-site operational and health and safety standards are maintained.
3. Attending reactive jobs following plant and equipment failure.
4. Keeping sites clean and tidy and undertaking safety and security checks.
5. Always working safely and complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
Base Location: Reading STW - RG2 0RP; however, due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to travel in the surrounding area.
Working Pattern or hours: 38 Hours Monday-Friday, plus the inclusion onto a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.

1. Be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves into the team around them. You need to be very disciplined and have the desire to learn from those around you, and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding at times but very rewarding too.
2. Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to understand the problem fully, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time.
3. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
4. Teamwork – We are one team, and our end goals are the same.
5. Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
6. Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
7. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.
8. Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence is essential.
