Job Description
I currently have an exciting opportunity for an Accessibility Manager to join one of the UK's leading train operators, you will lead and champion all accessibility and inclusion across the company.
This key role involves working with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the principles of accessibility, inclusion and equality are embedded into their National Rail Contract delivery.
You will be responsible for sharing best practice within the company in order to improve travel for our customers. This will also require developing relationships with other transport operators and rail industry groups, as well as their customer groups.

Key responsibilities for this Accessibility Manager role:
- Responsible for the fulfilment of their Business Plan Commitments for the Department for Transport.
- Develop and deliver the company's accessibility strategy.
- Lead the development and approval process for the Accessible Travel Policy, ensuring continuous updates and improvements.
- Manage regulatory compliance relating to accessibility, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Improve accessibility across our stations, ticketing, and information services.
- Foster relationships with transport operators, rail industry groups, and customer forums to promote best practices.
- Represent the company in national forums, including RDG's Accessibility Group.
- To develop knowledge of legislation and best practice related to inclusion, equality and accessibility, and to effectively communicate throughout the business any required changes to responsibility, policy and procedures
- To ensure that investigations into incidents of unsuccessful passenger assists are completed in a timely manner and lessons learned are implemented
- To develop and deliver a roadmap of initiatives to meet accessibility objectives - including supporting the identification, preparation and submission of bids for DfT, Local Enterprise Providers and other third-party funding sources
Key requirements for this Accessibility Manager role:
- Strong stakeholder management & influencing skills
- Proven record of accomplishment and experience in the fields of accessibility and inclusion
- Specific knowledge and experience of access and inclusion projects
- Experience in dealing with government bodies and cross industry specialist forums
- Capable of producing reports to Board level standard
- Ability to promote and market accessibility initiatives
- In-depth knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and other relevant legislation.
- Experience securing buy-in for initiatives and building business cases for funding.
