The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is looking for a Finance Officer - Payroll to join our team. In this role, you will manage the end to end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll and reporting requirements are met. We are seeking someone with a strong background in payroll. Strong numeracy skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in computer-based accounting systems and Microsoft Excel are essential. You'll need to effectively manage time and tasks, and possess strong organisational skills. A Vocational (VET) qualification in Payroll Services or similar, along with a desire to further your professional development, is highly desirable but not essential. Please note that this position is based in Derby with a base salary range from $76,742 - $81,076 plus generous allowances (up to $15,104), superannuation (11.5% & up-to 7% Council matching), and 5 weeks annual leave. Skills And Experiences Requirements Experience of end to end payroll processing (using Synergysoft and Altus is a plus) Demonstrated ability to provide payroll advice, and apply knowledge of relevant payroll procedures, policies and legislation. Advanced computer skills with experience in processing and troubleshooting electronic payroll systems in a medium to large organisational environment and expertise in using Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced administrative and financial skills with a strong attention to detail Advanced communication and problem-solving skills Qualifications and/or Training: Diploma in Payroll Services or similar qualification is highly desirable. Relevant experience in Payroll activities and management in a medium to large organisation.
