Role: Highways Engineer

Salary: Up to £48,000 depending on experience

The Highways Engineer role:
Your key duties will involve the preparation of detailed design, feasibility studies and scheme reports on a variety of projects. Alongside this, you will also have the opportunity to take responsibility for project management, budgeting, producing bill of quantities, and costings.
• Provide assurance that scheme designs comply with specification and agreed programme
• Work to ensure designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements
• Alongside colleagues, ensure designs are assessed for environmental impacts
• Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders and third parties
• Coordinate with other team members associated with the design
• Support junior team members working on projects
About you:
They are looking for a Highways Engineer with consulting experience around the design and management of the Section 278/38 process, as well as:
• Sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets
• Ability to engage and conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties
• Detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation
• Competent in use of Civils 3D
