The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key Responsibilities
From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.
It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
In this role you will be
1. Visiting applicant or licence holders to assess suitability to possess a firearms and explosives.
2. Discuss with applicants or licence holders aspects of their physical and mental health
3. Interview individuals who may assist in informing suitability, for example, partners, family members, referees.
4. Generate recommendations about suitability and identified risks
5. Prepare written reports and case files to ensure an audit trail
6. Attend court appeals
7. Handle and Assess Security arrangements of firearms and explosives
Skills & Experience
8. Educated to A level standard or equivalent vocational qualification or relevant work experience.
9. Ability to organise and prioritise work.
10. Ability to work independently, travel and adopt a flexible approach to achieve optimum efficiency.
11. High Standards of written and verbal communication
12. Working knowledge of assessing threat and risks.
13. Physically capable of undertaking security inspection in confined and difficult to reach places.
14. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle
