The role will involve supporting the fracture clinic and orthopaedic clinics, supporting the Orthopaedic Practitioners in the plaster room. There will be an opportunity to train in the application and removal of casts and splints, therefore an interest in this area is essential. Having basic knowledge of casting, basic anatomy and working in a plaster room would be beneficial to the role.
Duties would include organising and setting up clinic rooms, working alongside consultants and registrars and supporting them in the clinic. Chaperoning patients in the clinic, taking bloods and doing basic dressings. Work alongside the Orthopaedic Practitioners in the plaster room and working towards the British Orthopaedic Certificate for casting. Support with the general running of the clinics. Responsible for patients requiring escort to other departments. Relaying information to the multidisciplinary team and liaising with other health care professionals

Working alongside the Orthopaedic Practitioners in the casting room and gaining knowledge in casting and working towards the casting certificate.
