Boston University Global Programmes – Study Abroad Study Abroad, a division of Boston University Global Programs, is responsible for developing and providing opportunities for undergraduate study around the world. BU Study Abroad offers students from Boston University and over 100 other colleges and universities 200 programs, 30 cities, and 20 countries. Role Outline Boston University Study Abroad London is seeking a lecturer to teach a new elective course in Fundamentals of Creative Development as part of our Spring 2025 London Internship Programme for American study abroad students. Starting in mid-February, teaching is for 9 weeks on Mondays (AM or PM slots) or Fridays (AM or PM slots) amounting to 40 classroom contact hours in total, plus final exam coverage for the course, which concludes on 23rd April. Elective B classes are taught on Mondays or Fridays. Monday classes are scheduled for 24 th February; 3 rd, 10 th, 17 th, 24 th and 31 st March; 7 th, 8 th, 14 th and 22 nd April. Alternatively, Friday classes are scheduled for 28 th February; 7 th, 14 th, 21 st and 28 th March; 4 th, 10 th, 11 th, 17 th and 23 rd April. The final exam is scheduled for 24 th April. Additionally, 15 th April is reserved as a contingency teaching day, to be utilised if any lectures cannot be delivered as planned during the academic calendar. Fundamentals of Creative Development: This course focuses on the strategic creative process in advertising including concept development, copywriting, visualization, and design. Assignments will require students to conceive solutions to client marketing challenges across a range of media. The course will teach the foundations for development of effective advertising: problem definition, strategic development, and conceptual idea generation through tangible executions. Required Skills The successful candidate will be an exceptional practitioner, with a significant track record as a senior creative, combined with experience in teaching undergraduate students, preferably including American and international students.
