Senior Business Development Manager
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000
Location: Burton Upon Trent - with local travel
Hours & Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, which will at times include evenings, weekends, and breakfast meetings

Overview of the Role
I am seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior Business Development Manager to lead a team and drive our strategic growth. This newly created role will give you the chance to make a real difference by leading key projects, developing partnerships, and championing their mission and values. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the charity's continued success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: You will advise the Board and lead the development of the Strategic Plan, identifying opportunities for innovation, growth, and sustainability. Your ability to think creatively and strategically will drive the fundraising, communications, and business development efforts.
External Relationships: Build and nurture relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from statutory and business partners to churches and community organisations. Represent the charity at events, ensuring their influence grows both locally and nationally.
Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of dedicated professionals, including a Fundraising & Partnership Manager, Family Mediation Officer, and Counsellor. Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, ensuring cross-team synergy.
Christian Ethos: As a Christian organisation, they believe in inclusivity and diversity, promoting their values and mission both within the charity and across their wider network. You will be a key ambassador for their ethos, ensuring their work reflects the Christian values of compassion and service to others.
Operational Excellence: Oversee the smooth running of key projects, ensuring compliance, risk management, and sustainability. Manage budgets, KPIs, and performance reviews while always striving to improve service delivery.
Requirements
Proven experience in senior management, with a track record of leading diverse teams and managing budgets.
Strong strategic thinking, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage with a range of stakeholders.
Expertise in fundraising, partnership development, and writing compelling reports and proposals.
A deep commitment to the Christian mission of the charity and an understanding of working with vulnerable communities.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet competing demands.

1st Stage - Shortlisting & Pre-Screening
In this stage I will review your CV. Should you be successful, I will invite you for a telephone conversation, where will discuss your right to work, work history, suitability for the role, and any questions you may have.
2nd Stage - Formal Interview
In this stage, you will have a formal interview with the hiring manager, which you will be well prepared for.
3rd Stage - Presentation
In this stage, you will meet members of the board, and service users who you will speak to, learn from, and get to understand.
If successful, you will be required to have a current DBS on the update service, eligibility of right to work, and your start date will be subject to sufficient references.
