Service Care Solutions has an exciting opportunity for prosecutions lawyer to join a dynamic local authority team in Bristol. The council is seeking a skilled and motivated legal expert to provide comprehensive legal support across several key areas of law.
This role is paying £50-£55ph umbrella and can be done on a largely remote basis (bar the need to attend the office once or twice a month for committee meetings/court). It is a five-month rolling assignment.
Key Responsibilities Of The Prosecutions Lawyer Role:
* Handle a mixed caseload of prosecution work, relating to: trading standards and consumer protection law; Housing Act prosecutions; and environmental health prosecution work.
* Deal with criminal case preparation/litigation/procedure.
* Provide regulatory advice work, with an emphasis on Private Housing.
* Provide advice and committee work under the Licensing Act 2003, including appeals.
The Person:
* Proven experience in prosecution work, particularly in trading standards, consumer protection law, Housing Act prosecutions, and environmental health.
* This role is open to qualified and non-qualified candidates with relevant experience.
* Expertise in Magistrates Court trials and appeals, with strong advocacy skills.
* A willingness to travel to Bristol once or twice a month to attend Court and committee meetings.
