Children's Complex Needs Nurse - Band 6 - 37.5 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the ISCAN team (Integrated Service for Children with Additional Needs). It involves offering nursing, therapy and support to children with additional needs and their families as part of a multi-agency team. You will work in a variety of settings including clinics, schools and children's homes.
Main duties of the job
You will have experience of working with children with complex healthcare needs and their families and have good communication skills. Applicants must have the experience to provide, implement and manage training packages for children with complex needs, as well as the ability to carry out other complex needs nursing duties as required.
Applicants should be flexible, reliable, enthusiastic and able to adapt to various situations and conditions.

Essential
* Be a Degree level registered nurse (child) with significant post registration experience.
* Mentorship qualification
Desirable
* To be a qualified Non-Medical prescriber.
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
* A sound knowledge of child development and common complex disabilities and a range of treatment approaches.
* Good working knowledge of therapy processes and theoretical models.
* Child Protection Legislation.
* Common Assessment Framework and common processes.
* Understanding of evidence based practice and the implications for clinical practice.
* Significant experience as a qualified children's nurse working with children with complex needs within a relevant setting.
* Experience working as part of a multi-agency team.
Desirable
* Awareness of NHS modernization Agenda.
* To have knowledge of National Care Record System (EMIS).
* Experience working collaboratively with other agencies, e.g. education, social care, voluntary sector.
