Nicholas Associates has partnered with a well-known groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in the East Midlands. They work alongside construction companies and deliver civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure, roads & sewers services to new build projects with top 10 house builders.
The company has an exciting opportunity for a QA Manager to join the business. The overall purpose of the role is to drive quality processes through construction activities, ensuring client and building regulation specifications are adhered to while driving industry best practice through the business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Develop, manage and promote the company's QA processes and standards, focusing on continuous improvement.
2. Ensure the company and all key personnel understand and have available to them all pertinent quality related legislation, standards, and specifications.
3. Support construction teams in the delivery of quality practices through coaching, training, and where appropriate, hands-on support.
4. Keep abreast of good practice, non-conformance, innovation, and technological practices.
5. Collaborate with key stakeholders (internal and external) on matters relating to QA, including but not limited to clients, NHBC, internal procurement, and commercial teams.
6. Reduce remedial and customer care costs across the business.
7. Establish and manage a program that monitors quality assurance related performance, providing regular reviews and updates across the group.
8. Manage the QA process, ensuring all works have the appropriate QA checks completed.
9. Undertake and/or coordinate QA related inspections as required by the QA strategy and system.
Experience Required:
1. Professional construction related certification/qualification.
2. A minimum of 2 years' demonstrated experience in a management role within the Construction and Groundworks industry with a quality assurance focus.
3. Ability to adhere to the company's health, safety, and welfare policies and procedures.
4. High levels of knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office and other digital applications.
5. Ability to organise workload effectively for the purpose of meeting deadlines.
6. Ability to demonstrate flexibility/versatility combined with initiative, drive, and ability to meet deadlines.
7. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence senior stakeholders and the wider business.
8. Ability to work autonomously and flexibly, responding to business needs.
9. Ability to manage large projects within tight deadlines.
10. NHBC experience & knowledge (desirable).
