We are looking for enthusiastic and resilient individuals to join our school in Worthing as a SEND Teaching Assistant. This is an incredible opportunity to support children with complex needs, including non-verbal students and those who may present aggressive challenging behaviour, fostering their growth, development, and independence.
About the Role:
* Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
* Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (Term time only)
* Salary: £84 - £88 per day
* Start Date: ASAP
* Location: Worthing
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with our experienced teaching team to:
* Provide tailored support to primary-aged pupils with a variety of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, sensory needs, and complex behaviours.
* Assist with personal care and daily routines where necessary.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour using established strategies.
* Facilitate engaging learning activities, interventions, and play-based support.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide holistic care and education.
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking individuals with the following qualities and experience:
* Personal or professional experience with SEND, whether through work, volunteering, or supporting family members.
* Enthusiasm for working with children who have complex needs and may exhibit challenging behaviour.
* A proactive, active, and hands-on approach to learning and care.
* Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
* The ability to adapt to the diverse emotional and behavioural needs of students.
* Interest or studies in psychology, education, or related fields (advantageous but not essential).
