About the Role
As Network and Security Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering a modern, resilient, and secure enterprise network that meets the evolving needs of the University. Leading on the strategic planning, design, and implementation of next-generation network solutions, you will ensure high performance, security, and scalability across our campus and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing:
1. Leading the design and delivery of the University's Network Modernisation Programme.
2. Developing secure, scalable, and resilient network architectures, including software-defined networking (SDN), cloud integration, and next-gen security solutions.
3. Overseeing the deployment of Cisco ISE, NAC policies, and Zero Trust principles to enhance security and access management.
4. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align network strategy with business and digital transformation goals.
5. Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
6. Leading on network performance optimisation, automation, and operational efficiency.
7. Providing technical leadership, mentoring colleagues, and championing best practices in network security architecture.
What We're Looking For:
8. Extensive experience in network and security architecture, preferably in a large and complex environment.
9. Strong expertise in enterprise networking, network security, and cloud-based solutions.
10. Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies (ISE, Catalyst, SD-WAN, DNA Center and security frameworks.
11. Deep knowledge of authentication protocols (802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+), firewalls, VPNs, and network access control (NAC).
12. Strong understanding of Zero Trust security principles and network segmentation.
13. Experience in leading large-scale network transformation projects from inception to delivery.
14. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
15. Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, TOGAF) are highly desirable.
