The Trust is inviting applications for the role of Support Technician to join our Resilience and Specialist Operations team at either Melbourn or Great Notley.
The large number of different items of equipment will require the post holder to be dynamic and able to multitask.
The post holder needs to be an effective communicator and able to maintain good written records ensuring detailed servicing reports can be recalled as and when required.
The Support Technicians will be required to work predominantly Monday to Friday office hours and undertake part of an on-call team which will entail a rota of one week in five.
The Support Technicians will be based at one of the 4 Resilience sites across the Region but will be required to work at multiple sites and locations as part of their daily duties.
The Support Technician will be required to have some medical training to be able and ready to respond to incidents as part of their day-to-day work; they will be required to hold (or work towards) a blue light response driving qualification to be able to move equipment to incidents across the region. This is a physically demanding role and consideration should be made to this before application.
Those successful at interview will be required to undertake a number of training courses to enable them to complete their role, some of these courses will be away from the base location and may require overnight stays.
The post-holder will:
* Be clinically trained to support patient care where required.
* Be able to support the delivery of patient care and decontamination by attending the scene of an incident under emergency conditions as part of an on-call team.
* Be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of EEAST major incident / CBRN operational support equipment.
* Be responsible for ensuring that incident support vehicles are in a constant state of readiness for immediate deployment.
* Support and when required deliver the training and exercise programmes for EEAST and Acute Hospital Trust CBRN training.
* Be responsible for CBRN equipment/POMS including supporting equipment and Mass Casualty vehicle in accordance with Department of Health MOU.
