In addition, can you keep the children safe? You will receive a great deal of SEN and safeguarding training, including MAPA Training. As an aspiring clinical psychologist, over the course of 10 years of qualification, you need to qualify and disqualify areas of genuine interest and identify where your skills need enhancement.
1. 11-16 year old secondary-aged students, all with EHCPs, including children with Autism, OCD, and both verbal and non-verbal children, to children with acute social anxiety.
2. Physical work combined with being pragmatic, making as much academic progress as each child's context allows.
3. Some anti-social behavior that will take getting used to; this is all part of the role when aiding society's most vulnerable children. All training and support will be provided by the school through their excellent training system.
4. A number of therapies introduced and holistic processes; a little progress is considered a success here.
5. Pathological Demand Avoidance and Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
6. A real focus on all ages; the cognitive abilities of each student will be very diverse.
7. Positive engagement, giving the children a sense of acceptance; talking therapy will not always work here, so different approaches are required.
8. Giving the students objectives and as much independence as possible, especially if the students are in assisted living.
