Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship – Dell Cottage Nursery
The Aspire Training Team are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to complete their Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship at Dell Cottage Nursery, Christchurch.
Dell Cottage Nursery caters for children aged 2-5 years, occupying the entire ground floor with free flow throughout the rooms and outdoors. Each room is painted a different colour: the purple room is dedicated to sensory play, the blue room for imaginative play with dressing up, the messy room for art & craft activities, a large yellow room leading out onto a beautiful patio garden, and a green room for play.
We have access to a beautiful, large garden at the front of the property, designed to bring the indoors out, with opportunities for painting, craft, messy play, books, water play, planting, and more. We encourage the children to learn about the outdoor environment.
Children aged 2 years and under have use of the entire top floor, which comprises the purple room dedicated to play, a messy room for art and craft activities, and two sleep rooms. They also have their own designated garden space, newly refurbished with soft Astro Turf and a modern summer house for exploring plants and insects.
This position covers maternity leave, and it has been confirmed that any successful candidate will be able to remain in the position for the term of the apprenticeship, with a view to sharing the role post-apprenticeship.
Your roles and responsibilities will include:
* Supporting with the day-to-day duties in the nursery.
* All aspects of personal care, including nappy changing.
* Setting up snacks.
* Reading to children.
* Planning activities for the children.
* Putting up displays.
* General housekeeping duties.
* Being a key person for children, ensuring that they are supported with their development.
Requirements:
* A Level 2 Childcare Qualification is required.
* You must be able to obtain a clear DBS.
* GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent, are desired.
Hours:
* Dell Cottage Nursery is open from 08:00-18:00, Monday to Friday.
* The successful candidate will be required to work 30 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed.
