We are looking for a skilled teacher to deliver engaging and practical lessons in Design & Technology and Catering, equipping students with essential skills for the modern world. You should be able to deliver excellent lessons across a range of areas in design and technology at KS3 and KS4, including graphics, food and nutrition, resistant materials, systems and control, and textiles technology fostering creativity, problem-solving, and technical expertise.
Design and Technology, and Hospitality and Catering, are both very popular and well supported subjects at GCSE. The subject has three catering rooms, 2 workshops with laser cutters, a graphics studio and a classroom, both equipped with PCs and Chromebooks.The department is also supported by a dedicated subject specialist LSA, a food technician, and a design and technology technician, all of whom have considerable industry experience.
At KS3, we teach a carousel of graphic design, resistant materials (including electronics), and food and nutrition. An ability to teach across these would be desirable. At GCSE we offer Edexcel GCSE Design and Technology and WJEC Level 1 / Level 2 Hospitality and Catering.
A strong subject and curriculum knowledge of one or more of these with the confidence to deliver at GCSE level is essential
