We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic therapy team at UHCW NHS Trust. This post will primarily be based at our Coventry site, with some coverage at Rugby St Cross Hospital. UHCW Therapy Department is a forward-thinking, innovative department within a large, multi-site acute NHS trust. The post holder will work clinically within the trauma and elective orthopaedic wards, providing specialist advice, assessments, and treatments to a variety of patients. This includes supporting patients with complex physical conditions such as traumatic amputations and spinal cord injuries, and cognitive conditions like traumatic brain injuries and delirium. Applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills and be comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, with varying health and complex needs. The successful candidate will work within an integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and provide clinical supervision to staff and students. We are looking for applicants with the skills to assess and treat patients in an inpatient setting. Due to the high turnover of patients and varying complexity, applicants must be dynamic and adaptable. Experience in staff supervision, student training, and service development is essential. The Trauma and Orthopaedic teams operate a seven-day week working pattern, with early and late shifts.
Responsibilities:

* Manage a caseload of patients with varying diagnosis and/or complex needs, using evidence-based/client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions in a defined clinical area.
* Ensure development of junior staff through supervision, training, and annual appraisal.
* Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of clinical practice & service development within the area.
* Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust Occupational Therapy service.
* Take a lead for information management to ensure high-quality data is recorded, evaluated & reported in a timely manner.
