Quality Assistant (Full time, 6-month Temp Position) Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The Groups Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland. We are seeking applications for the position of Temporary Quality Assistantreporting to the Assistant Technical Manager at our Ballyrashane site. Working within the Quality Department, the Quality Assistant will be responsible for leading and monitoring our compliance to quality and food safety standards at the Lakeland Ballyrashane site by ensuring adherence to the highest of customer and regulatory standards including the management of activities designed to guarantee food safety, integrity, legality and quality. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our quality systems and processes. Ensuring the effective implementation and continuous monitoring of customer standards into the sites quality management system. Assist customer complaints when required; conduct investigations, responses and close outs. Support resolutions to issues raised through internal and external audits. Assist in the compliance with BRC requirements. Facilitating customer visits, audits and technical requests Carry out spot checks on records daily to ensure all records are live and accurate. Developing and amending cleaning and work instructions on site. Assist with departmental training and verification as required. Complete internal audits as required, ensuring that any non-conformances are reported to management. Provide technical input/guidance for product launch including artwork changes, quality specification and customer specific requirements. Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This may include Health & Safety and HR policies and procedures. Ownership and responsibility for the maintenance of specific sections of the Food Management System, and to present to auditors. Any other duties as requested by Management. Individual:The successful candidate must have a positive attitude to change and a commitment to help train and coach others as required. In addition, flexibility around hours of work and ownership of own work will be required. Education: Degree in Food Science or equivalent.
