An exciting position has arisen for a Senior Credit Controller to join a Charity that strives to support people with learning disabilities. The postholder will be responsible for timely and effective collection of all debts and customer payments.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage the credit control function of the organisation, working with the account receivables team to ensure all invoices are raised accurately and promptly.
* Chase overdue payments by phone, email, letter, and other online platforms, maintaining regular contact with clients to establish payment dates and resolve any queries promptly.
* Allocate receipt of payments against outstanding invoices promptly.
* Handle customer queries, requests for statements, reconciliations.
* Responsible for raising credit notes and debtors' reconciliations.
* Production of debtor's reporting for management.
* Maintain accurate records of all outstanding debts, ensuring that debtor days are kept within the strategic target (currently 30 days).
* Develop and implement credit control policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of bad debt. Evaluate and implement automated payment systems.
* Monitor and report on the performance of the credit control function, highlighting any issues or areas for improvement to senior management.
* Create and develop good relationships and networks with colleagues within the wider business. Keeping relevant operational managers up to speed with the debt situation in their area.
* Identify process improvements including recommendation of suspension proceedings where collection steps have failed and follow on legal escalations.
* Manage interdepartmental relationships with the understanding of how this impacts your day-to-day and collaborating to make efficiencies where possible.
Minimum Requirements:
* Credit control experience in the Charity or Social Care sectors.
* Experience of credit control collecting from Local Authorities or other entities.
* Strong attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlines.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (V-Lookups and Pivot Tables).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Length: Permanent
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Working pattern: Mainly Remote Working (travel to office a few times a month)
