Find a place to excel
Bourne Veterinary Practice is a purpose-built practice in the heart of the countryside in Bekesbourne, Canterbury, Kent. With excellent transport links and situated just 10 minutes from the City of Canterbury and 30 minutes from the port of Dover and the Eurotunnel at Folkestone.
We have state-of-the-art equipment including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, orthopedic equipment, laser unit, ultrasound, endoscopy, and our separate rehabilitation unit with our water treadmill. Our main clinic consists of 4 consultation rooms and a large reception waiting area. We have separate dog and cat wards and a separate isolation ward. Also, we have a separate cat clinic which consists of 2 consultation rooms, prep area, and a waiting area and is ISFM Silver accredited.
Be part of delivering clinical excellence
There will be various shift roles including clinics, dispensary, theatre, and in-patients. We appreciate that work-life balance is important and so the position is Monday-Friday with 1:6 Saturday shifts (8am-5pm) and the weekday shifts are 10-hour shifts 4 days a week or 8-hour shifts 5 days a week. The earliest start time would be 8:00 am and the latest finish time 8:00 pm. There is no out of hours or on-call.
We encourage the sharing of CPD and best practice and hold regular M&M meetings to ensure that we are delivering the best care for both our patients and clients. The welfare of our team is very important to us, and we constantly strive to ensure a good work-life balance and supportive working environment.
Join our supportive team
The practice has a caring and supportive culture with a close-knit family feel. We have annual summer events, Christmas events, and social activities to keep the team bonded and give time to unwind. There are plenty of opportunities to learn from both senior and visiting colleagues.
Currently, our team consists of 5 Veterinary Surgeons (including a Clinical Director) supported by 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 4 Receptionists, and a Practice Manager. One of our vets is an advanced practitioner in Feline Medicine and our Clinical Director holds a certificate in Emergency Critical Care.
