We are seeking a Shift Electrical Maintenance Technician who will work within the UK Engineering team and contribute to the efficient day-to-day operation of the UK manufacturing plant. This position is 4 on, 4 off - days only. Work in Ecolab's Agarose Manufacturing Facility to ensure all mechanical & electrical equipment is safe, functional, and fully maintained to the highest standards. Carry out troubleshooting as a key part of the engineering team to support production and continued safe operation to deliver manufacturing output targets. This role is suitable for both mechanical and electrical bias candidates. Work with Plant Engineering team, and proactively carry out preventative maintenance, support service visits, calibration, reactive maintenance, inspections and other measures to ensure continued production with respect to mechanical & electrical equipment. Develop maintenance procedures and other Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental documentation as necessary. Working safely on site and adhering to health and safety procedures for maintenance work. Work with Process Engineer, Plant Electrical Engineer & other production/R&D staff on troubleshooting and improvement projects. Ensure all maintenance (internal & contractors) work is carried out correctly, safely and recorded as per the procedures. Act as a key stakeholder in the facility and be available for remote support and call out – process to be defined. Any other reasonable duties as required by management of the company. What you'll need: Experience of fault finding and repair of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical control/automation systems. Experience of Electrical Maintenance in hazardous areas Experience with three phase, motors, drives and instrumentation involving flow, pressure, temperature, and level measurement. Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings Ability to write clear effective reports and procedures Ability to follow complex work instructions and document completed work accurately Ability to work at heights, handle and work with heavy equipment Basic workshop skills HNC qualified in an engineering discipline or time served apprenticeship with experience. Desirable but not essential: Experience of working in a chemical environment 18th Edition Wiring Regulations desirable Familiar with DSEAR and ATEX zones Experience of PLC systems, Control Panels, HMi's & SCADA Systems (preferably Siemens S7-1500)
