Oak Vale Gardens is an 18 bedded Specialist Neuro-rehabilitation Unit in Liverpool. We are part of the Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network and work closely with the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust. We work as members of an interdisciplinary team, including physios, OTs, nurses and Psychologists, providing nursing care and neuro-therapy to patients with traumatic brain injuries or complex neurological conditions.

As a critical member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be supporting and assisting Registered Nurses in the assessment, planning and implementation of patients’ care, delivering care in line with the support plans and guidelines as well as liaising with family members as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
2. Provide practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities.
3. Observe and monitor the wellbeing of patients, ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly reported to the Nurse in Charge, and documented as appropriate.
4. Complete mandatory and bespoke training.
5. Contribute to a team approach to patients’ care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
6. Assist in the maintenance of ward cleanliness and tidiness and adhere to infection control policy and procedures at all times.
7. Develop and maintain a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
