Background
The Clinic Manager sits within the City Sight Clinic, which is part of the Department of Optometry and Visual Science. City Sight offers a wide range of eye care services to the general public, including clinics for Primary Care, Contact lenses, Dispending, Paediatrics and Binocular Vision. Eye care services during term time are carried out by final year Optometry students under supervision.
Responsibilities
The Clinic Manager will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and senior academic colleagues to ensure the efficient and effective running of all Optometry Clinical Services at the City Sight Clinic, maintaining the highest professional standards.
The post holder is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of clinical and professional colleagues to ensure effective support for student and patient needs and course delivery.
Person Specification
The post holder will have extensive experience working as a healthcare professional within a private or public sector. They will have excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills, to manage the operational and logistical needs of the City Sight Eye Clinic and Optometry programme. They will be confident in managing and leading a team with the ability to build effective working relationships on all levels, both with internal and external teams.
