Main Objectives of the Sales Engineer:
* Focus on development and growth of sales of the full range of Meech products in the UK & Ireland;
* Maximise penetration of existing repeat customers;
* Increase market coverage and grow the number of active customers;
* Collaborate closely with Meech Business Development Team and Technical Sales Specialist to ensure there is an aligned approach for effective market coverage.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Sales Director, the key activities and responsibilities of the Sales Engineer will include:
* Proactive development of new prospects and leads to ensure the order pipeline is strong and maintained for all Meech products;
* Focus primarily on ‘end user' customers while BD team focus on OEM machinery manufacturers and House Accounts – but be open to collaborate when needed;
* Develop a regional plan for effective call planning for different customer tiers:
o multi-natinal key accounts, national accounts, and smaller transactional end users;
* Effective telephone, email and LinkedIn prospecting and proactive follow-up of new sales leads and marketing campaigns;
* Scheduling, planning and prioritising efficient and effective sales trips;
* Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve goals – working closely with BD Team;
* Effective utilisation of CRM and other Meech information systems and management tools;
* Production of reports, presentations, quotes, correspondence and pricing proposals;
* Sales budgeting and forecasting;
* Provide ongoing market feedback and details of trends and developments. Update market data and documentation as necessary;
* Recommend and support marketing strategies/campaigns for all product lines in region;
* Assist the Project Engineers with installations, commissioning and trouble-shooting as required;
* Inform customers of new products and technologies relevant to their processes;
* Cross-sell the wider range of Meech products to existing customers;
* Provide UK specialist support for other direct Meech sales team members, Meech offices and distributors when requested;
* Liaise effectively with personnel at Meech's UK head office as necessary to coordinate the fulfilment and servicing of regional accounts;
* Any other duties or responsibilities that may reasonably be required from time to time.
Skills, knowledge and experience
* Cover the UK and Ireland combined territory;
* Willingness to travel regularly as required (including frequent stays away from home), primarily within the UK and Ireland;
* Based at Meech's UK head office in Witney, Oxfordshire 1-2 days per week after initial training period
* Proven business-to-business technical sales ability and good commercial understanding, ideally within a related industry, with a technical background and/or aptitude;
* Able to engage and adopt consultative as well as transaction selling styles;
* Range of sales techniques to negotiate effectively with different decision makers within customers;
* Proactive, self-motivated and achievement driven;
* Customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills to include professional credibility, networking, relationship building, negotiating and influencing;
* Organised, confident, self-disciplined, thorough and logical.
