Job description
Are you an experienced Sprayer Operator/Tractor Driver?
Your key duties:
1. Working on agricultural operations including cultivations, drilling, fertiliser applications and irrigation.
2. Carrying out agrochemical applications on a wide range of agricultural / horticultural trials and commercial cropping using a 24m SAM Horizon self-propelled sprayer and Trimble GPS.
3. Carrying out commercial and plot combine harvesting operations.
4. Machinery maintenance on a wide range of standard agricultural machinery and specialist trials equipment.
The role will not be limited to these duties, and you will be required to carry out a range of other associated work activities delivered by the centre, some of which can be physically demanding. The day-to-day work will be on trial plots as well as commercial cropping. Essential training will be provided as necessary.
Essential Skill Requirements:
5. Experience in Agriculture, Horticulture or Field Trials
6. Pesticide application certificates - PA1, PA2, PA6 and NRoSO registered.
7. Use and maintenance of agricultural equipment.
8. A good working knowledge of agricultural practices
9. Microsoft office
10. Attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
11. Forklift and Tractor driving certificates.
12. ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) certificates
13. Working knowledge of tractor Global Positioning System (GPS)
14. An understanding of agricultural trials
A full UK driving licence is essential as you will be travelling to other sites awithin a 30 mile radius.
You must have the Right to work in the UK.
Salary: £35, - £45,
