Trust Registrar ST3+
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is now one of the largest trusts in the country, serving a population of 1.2 million people. Our newly formed Trust, comprising acute hospital sites at Broomfield in Chelmsford, Basildon and Southend, is determined to provide the best health services for its local population. We are a well-led, high-performing and innovative organisation working in the best interests of the people we serve.
Job overview
We have an excellent opportunity for a Trust Registrar to join our well-established Renal Medicine Team at Basildon Hospital. You will be based within the Renal Medicine department, and your role will include work in general medicine, geriatrics, and specialist medicine. You will be expected to carry out your duties in accordance with an agreed timetable, which will include some early morning and evening work, along with a commitment to the Acute on Call rota shared with other Middle grade Doctors.
You will have the opportunity to attend specialty-specific teaching, a weekly medical unit grand round, a multi-disciplinary radiology meeting, and PACES teaching (organised by the College Tutor and the RCP Associate Tutor) in a division that has a well-structured teaching timetable and an excellent undergraduate teaching programme.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a friendly, supportive team where Multi-Disciplinary Team work is envisaged as a key component of the way this Trust operates. Your responsibilities will include:
* Continuing care of predominantly renal patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
* Undertaking ward duties under the direction of senior colleagues.
* Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Working for our organisation
With a workforce of approximately 15,000 staff, we can now do more and go further in delivering health services to our local communities. Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate, and build careers.
