We are looking for a Senior Rehabilitation Assistant at our service Park House in Bedford.
At Park House, we have a strong focus on therapy, care, and quality of life. We offer specialist post-acute rehabilitation, as well as management of long-term neurological conditions, in Bedford. What you'll be working:
* Working 7 days a week on a rota
* 40.15 hrs per week
* Long Day and Night - Full time.
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Deputy Home Manager, you will assist in maintaining the highest standard of personalised care and support, supervising the performance of staff in the home, and promoting the good reputation of Park House. You will professionally lead the care team during any span of duty, ensuring that a safe, effective, and efficient care service is maintained which meets the needs of residents. You will provide care to residents in accordance with their assessed needs to an industry-leading standard. You will enable our Residents to perform activities of everyday living, who, due to a neurological impairment, are unable to perform without assistance. This may include nutrition, mobility, personal hygiene, and support in line with care plans, whilst maintaining dignity and respect. You will ensure that Rehabilitation Assistants receive the training and development opportunities appropriate to their needs and the demands of the service.
What you'll be doing:
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure that your team maintains the highest standards of care, support, and rehabilitation by leading the shift effectively and proactively.
* Maintain the safety of service users, in accordance with national legislation and local policy.
* Maintain confidentiality in accordance with national legislation and local policy, including GDPR/Data Protection protocols.
* Supervise team members to ensure continuity of care and adherence to plans and rehabilitation interventions.
* Take responsibility for staff allocation to Residents.
* Manage shift rotas to ensure sufficient and safe cover is provided at all times.
* Complete daily administrative tasks, including handover notes, resident of the day, and Datix.
What you will have:
* NVQ Level 3: Evidence of personal and professional development.
* Experience of working with older people.
* Knowledge and use of clinical assessment tools e.g. Waterlow.
* Understanding of care planning processes and experience of writing care plans.
* Experience of leading a shift.
In all instances, it is not necessary to hold the qualification to be recruited into the role, but the SRA will be required to work towards it once they have completed their probation.
