Job Description
Job Purpose:
LGC is currently engaged in a tender process for a 6-lot procurement worth £400m over an initial 5 years. We are the incumbent for elements of the lots, but the structure is new and the process is expected to be very competitive.
To support effective decision-making throughout the bid, it will be important to monitor the costs of the proposition as it stands at any point in time. We therefore need a cost model to be kept in sync with the Future Mode of Operation document.
This is potentially complex due to TUPE implications and the probability that whilst each of the 6 lots will need to be independently priced, the actual cost of delivery will be impacted by the number of lots secured. Establishing and maintaining a cost model will also be vital given the need for decisions on partnerships.
LGC therefore seeks a person who can work with the bid team for the duration of the procurement (estimated to be 6 months) and can develop a complex cost model.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop appropriate financial models for tender submissions covering various scenarios.
* Analyse costs and work with the bid team on pricing strategy to ensure competitive bids.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts, response leads, and the bid team to understand and challenge cost drivers.
* Understand potential cost implications of multi-lot bids and work with the bid team to ensure synergies are well communicated in the bid.
* Work with potential partners/collaborators on their costs for delivery of lot elements.

* Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Strong analytical skills with extensive experience in bid work and tendering.
* Proficiency in financial modelling (including the use of appropriate tools).

Other Skills and Abilities
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Effective at working with staff at all levels.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
