On behalf of NEC Group, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Event Management To provide strategic leadership of event managers within our 2 arenas and service partner event teams and event process. Offering effective and clear leadership of the Event Management team, ensuring individual and team performance standards remain central in maintaining a consistent focus of health and safety process and procedures, offering exceptional customer service and aligning with the Ticketing & Arenas business strategic plan and objectives.

What You’ll Do – Head of Event Management, Arenas
As well as the above you will:
Assert through strong leadership the continual development of the Event Management team, emphasising and maintaining effective team and performance standards in line with venue culture, strategic business unit and department objectives and company policies and procedures.
Assist the Senior Head of Event Management in ensuring all Event teams proactively provide and follow due process and procedure of event planning and event safety documentation, adhering to current legislative requirements, company guidelines and local arrangements, liaising with organisers and promoter representatives on the NAA A-Guide and crowd safety arrangements.

We need someone who’s as comfortable in the boardroom as they are in a buzzing arena. Here’s what makes you the perfect fit:
• Excellent communication and resource management skills with a proven track record of leading staff and able to work autonomously with clear, assertive decision-making abilities.
• Experienced robust and able to cope well with anti-social hours and in a pressurised high-risk environment.
• Significant experience in a similar role in Arena’s business.
• Good coaching skills and the ability to develop and motivate the individual as well as the teams.
• Demonstrate ability to think and plan both laterally and strategically with a forward looking and creative approach to deliver events and strategic plans, both in the short and long term.
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail, understanding where compromise must reflect tight deadlines in defining a necessary and sufficient outcome
• Strong relationship builder and assertive style, good facilitation and influencing skills.
• An ability to show calm and appreciation to self, individuals and teams under pressure, understanding issues and impact on physical and mental health, and well-being.
• Must be able to cope and adapt to last minute change effectively and positively, delivering constantly within a changing and growing business environment.
• Computer literate – Windows packages including word, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Office 365, Excel, Power point, Auto Cad viewer outlook and EBMS.
• Creative thinker and problem solver – towards customer and people management.
• Thorough understanding of health and safety logistics for Arena events. Nebosh General Certificate preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and able to establish productive relationships with people at all levels.
• Be commercially aware and fully competent in managing costs, budgets and revenue margins to specific targets
