About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic and supportive primary school in Doncaster. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and will be committed to supporting students in achieving their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who require additional support in the classroom, helping them to access the curriculum and develop their social, emotional, and academic skills. This is a rewarding role where you will make a significant difference to the lives of children, providing tailored support to ensure they thrive at school.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
* Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons to meet the needs of SEN pupils.
* Support children with a range of needs, including but not limited to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional/behavioral challenges.
* Help with the development and implementation of individual learning plans (ILPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs).
* Encourage students’ independence and confidence in learning and social interactions.
* Monitor and track the progress of SEN students and provide feedback to the class teacher.
* Work collaboratively with other staff members, including the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and external professionals, to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
* Promote inclusion and ensure all children feel supported and valued within the school community.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting (desirable but not essential).
* A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach to working with children with additional needs.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
* A commitment to providing the highest standard of care and support for all students.
* A relevant qualification in supporting children with SEN (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification or Level 2/3 SEN qualification) would be an advantage.
* A positive and proactive attitude to ensuring children’s development and well-being.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
