Role Overview
As a key member of the ANSON MCCADE team, we are seeking an experienced Principal Designer to join our Hull & Outfit department. This role offers a unique opportunity for you to utilize your expertise in creating complex 3D models for vessel primary structures, leveraging your design skills to drive innovation and excellence.
About the Role
This position involves collaborating closely with Project Leaders and other designers to deliver high-quality designs that meet rigorous standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for creating detailed, large-scale designs using CAD tools such as FORAN, NX, and/or SolidWorks, and working on challenging operational and installation issues. Additionally, you will have opportunities to mentor and lead other designers within the team.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with significant experience in a design role, ideally in high-hazard industries like civil engineering, marine, or oil and gas. Strong analytical skills and a proven track record of solving complex design challenges are essential. Proficiency in CAD tools is also crucial, as well as experience in mentoring and leading designers. Your Responsibilities
- Create detailed, large-scale designs for platforms, assemblies, and equipment installations
- Utilize CAD tools such as FORAN, NX, and/or SolidWorks to drive innovation and excellence

- Work on challenging operational and installation issues
- Mentor and lead other designers within the team
