What does a Compensation Manager do at Hogarth?
The Compensation Manager plays a critical role in designing, implementing, administering, and analysing Hogarth's compensation and reward programs. This includes leading the annual merit review and bonus processes, ensuring competitive positioning within the market, and maintaining data integrity within WPP's compensation systems.
This role requires strong analytical, project management, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of compensation principles and a commitment to fostering a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Job Evaluation & Market Analysis: Conduct job evaluations and classifications using market data from Mercer and other sources, aligning with WPP's Job Architecture framework. Analyse market trends and competitor compensation practices to inform the development of competitive compensation programs.
2. Annual Merit Review & Bonus Process: Lead the planning, implementation, and communication of the annual merit review and bonus (STIP) processes. This includes developing project plans, coordinating timelines, managing stakeholder communication, and ensuring accurate and timely handing off of information to payroll teams.
3. Compensation Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date compensation data in WPP e-Comp, ensuring data integrity for executive leadership reporting. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key compensation metrics, trends, and program effectiveness. Prepare ad-hoc compensation analyses and reports as requested.
4. Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to compensation practices. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and maintaining comprehensive audit trails in accordance with Hogarth and WPP policies.
5. Collaboration & Partnership: Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Finance, Payroll and other stakeholders to align compensation programs with business objectives and ensure effective communication and implementation of compensation initiatives.
6. Program Development & Improvement: Contribute to the design and development of new or enhanced compensation programs. Proactively identify opportunities to improve program effectiveness, fairness, and alignment with market best practices.
7. Equity & Incentive Plan Administration: Track and administer equity and incentive programs (e.g., RSU), ensuring accurate calculations are made and timely payments via payroll teams.
8. Documentation & Communication: Develop and maintain comprehensive compensation-related documentation, including guidelines, policies, procedures, timelines, and FAQs. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding compensation programs and policies.
Requirements:
* Degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
* Experience in compensation administration, analysis, or a related field.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including vlookups, pivot tables, and complex formulas) and other relevant software.
* Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* Experience with Mercer or other compensation benchmarking tools is preferred.
* Familiarity with WPP e-Comp or similar compensation management systems is a plus.
Reporting lines and key stakeholders
This role reports to the Global Head of People Operations. You will work closely with both the Global CFO and Global CPO.
