To undertake unsupervised routine engineering and building planned and unplanned preventative maintenance, fault finding, building, tiling, joinery, electrical, plumbing and breakdown tasks and to provide general duties of cleaning and store keeping. Other specialist duties may also be required after appropriate training to provide a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors to the Trust.
To be aware of the workings of the Buildings and Mechanical systems within the Healthcare environment and to carry out essential maintenance and repair of such items.
To be responsible for the skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities on the Trust's engineering assets, including processing of work on personal electronic devices, time sheets using hand held technology and test reports necessary to comply with statutory legislation.
To carry out equipment surveys, audits and visual inspections as requested by the line manager including building, flooring and tiling, report defects to ensure work is carried out in a timely manner.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections, adjustments, and commissioning tests in accordance with Trust procedures and schedules on a wide variety of Hospital equipment. Carry out statutory safety checks and departmental procedures, recording all readings, undertake sampling and observations as required. Carry out first line assessment, fault finding, repair, substitute service and/or safe isolation as required.
