The Role
Are you a finance professional looking to make a real impact? Join our team at our Livingston site, which manufactures premium seafood, supplying top-quality products to Waitrose. As the Operations Accountant, leading the on-site finance team, you will play a crucial role in driving the site's growth and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Financial Controller (Scotland) and as part of the site leadership team, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations, providing accurate and timely insights to support decision-making. From designing and maintaining robust financial controls to delivering in-depth operational reporting on yields and labour, your expertise will shape the success of our site.
Duties Include:
1. Support FC Scotland in weekly and monthly group reporting requirements, incl. preparation of and providing insight into monthly site Continuous Improvement (CI) packs.
2. Support FC Scotland with production and interrogation of departmental management information in support of weekly site management and Sofina Group management reviews.
3. Further development of the management reporting process to align departmental targets with site financial targets/objectives through all tiers of operations.
4. The successful candidate will be required to work cross-functionally and support project teams as a key finance lead providing robust analysis and/or validating proposals before submission to senior management.
5. Continuous improvement of finance and operational reporting cycles, including supporting cost reduction initiatives.
6. Prepare high-quality right first-time Application for Financial Expenditure (CAPEX) proposals for Board approval.
7. Identify and lead analysis and reporting of Research & Development claims for the site.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
2. Strong understanding of manufacturing (seafood or food manufacturing would be a bonus).
3. Understanding of operational systems and procedures.
4. Computer literate with strong Excel and analytical skills.
