You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Design Technology lessons, fostering a love of the subject and equipping students with valuable skills. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating Design Technology lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students develop their design and practical skills effectively (e.g., project management, materials exploration, computer-aided design [CAD] if applicable). Foster creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills in students throughout the design process. Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (if applicable). Safe Learning Environment: Maintain a safe and well-organized workshop environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Student Progress: Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their academic goals. Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning. Enrichment Activities: Contribute to and potentially lead enrichment activities related to Design Technology (e.g., design clubs, workshops, competitions). Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore their design interests beyond the curriculum. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Design Technology Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience. A strong passion for Design Technology and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement. Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to keep up-to-date with current design trends and technologies. Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and practical lessons. A commitment to high standards and creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
