Key Account Manager
Office based - Southampton
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Purpose of the job:
The primary purpose of this role is to help drive Garmin sales within Marine accounts to take sustainable and profitable market share and YOY growth.
The candidate should have an excellent understanding of the UK Leisure Marine Market with experience in Marine Sales. Experience with marine electronics is highly desirable. Well-developed analytical skills including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint would be a benefit.
The role includes day-to-day management and support to various types of marine accounts, attending customer meetings as required, executing promotions, providing technical advice on Garmin marine installations, and ensuring all opportunities are maximized supported by the Marine Sales Manager.
Be able to work to objectives and targets to enhance sales of Garmin products and services within a small team working closely with the Marketing team.
It is essential that all applicants have marine electronics experience, including selling, fitting, and spec'ing.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity.
* Plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory/business according to an agreed market development strategy.
* Manage product/service mix, pricing, and margins according to agreed aims.
* Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, customer visits, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
* Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organised marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions, and telemarketing.
* Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods.
* Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
* Record, analyse, report, and administer according to systems and requirements.
* Attend trade shows and supplier events sometimes at weekends.
Education & Experience:
* Proven sales experience with a marine electronics background.
* Pro-active team player within the Sales and Marketing function.
* Ability to cultivate good working relationships with distributors and dealers to support ongoing sales relationships.
* Attention to detail, with excellent time management skills.
* Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
* Proven technical aptitude with marine electronics.
* Ability to travel on business domestically and internationally and work remotely as required.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
* Boating/Sailing experience would be an advantage.
