We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the construction of a self-storage unit in Havant, Portsmouth. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in commercial, industrial, or warehouse construction projects. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project is delivered to the highest standards, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Oversee and manage the entire construction process from pre-construction to project close-out. Lead a multidisciplinary team including site managers, engineers, and subcontractors. Provide strategic direction and resolve complex issues to ensure smooth project delivery. Health & Safety Oversight: Champion health and safety policies, ensuring compliance across all site activities. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded. Foster positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants. Budget and Financial Management: Take full accountability for project budgets, ensuring financial controls are in place. Prepare and present detailed cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial updates. Program & Scheduling: Develop and manage the master project program, identifying critical paths and potential risks. Proactively address delays or issues to keep the project on track. Quality Assurance: Ensure all construction work aligns with design specifications, building regulations, and quality standards. Lead site inspections, commissioning, and snagging processes. Essential Skills & Experience: Industry Expertise: Minimum 8-10 years of experience managing commercial, industrial, or warehouse construction projects. Extensive experience working with main contractors. Familiarity with self-storage or similar facility construction is highly desirable. Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate large teams. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities. Technical & Commercial Acumen: Comprehensive knowledge of UK building regulations and industry best practices. Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage project complexities. Qualifications: Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications such as MCIOB or MRICS are advantageous. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification. CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card. First Aid and temporary works coordination qualifications are preferred
