We are looking for a proactive and efficient Buyer to join our team This role is ideal for someone who has worked within a buying/procurement department as an Assistant Buyer looking to take the next step, or an experienced Buyer seeking a new challenge. As a key member of our buying department, you will be instrumental in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of materials and equipment, contributing directly to the success of our operations. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the buying team to manage purchasing activities, such as researching suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, and placing orders promptly. Additionally, you will monitor inventory levels, track order statuses, and proactively resolve any issues to ensure on-time delivery. You will also: Liaise with suppliers, planning teams, operations managers, and site teams, ensuring information is accurately communicated promptly and efficiently. Ensure all materials and equipment are delivered to sites within the required timeframe. Raise purchase orders, cross-check invoices, and query discrepancies. Proactively resolve any issues or delays in the procurement process to minimize disruptions. Continuously improve and implement project work to enhance a consistently evolving department. Use a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets, and databases. What are we looking for? Working closely with our experienced buying team, your exceptional communication skills and ability to prioritise tasks will be essential in coordinating purchasing activities. Your attention to detail and dedication to delivering results will contribute to the overall success of our organisation. To aid your application, we would like you to have: Experience within a similar position ideally within the utilities or construction industry Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-lasting relationships. Ability to work within a team, and equally on your own initiative. Great attention to detail and ability to input accurate information. Ability to work to deadlines and time frames. A proactive and hands-on approach. The ability to work under pressure within a deadline-driven environment.
