Food Technology
Justteachers teaching agency is recruiting for a Food Technology Teacher to work within one of partner specialist provision schools located in Northallerton.
This position will be teaching pupils and supporting pupils who may have previously experienced significant and prolonged periods of disengagement and/or disaffection in their education. This may have impacted negatively upon their previous levels of achievement and motivation to succeed at school. The school specialises in delivering a quality education for children with Social Emotional and Mental Health and Autism Spectrum Condition.
This position is in a highly supportive school, it is to start in May 2025 and is a temporary position in the first instance with the possibility of being offered a permanent contract.
About the role:
* 3 days per week – Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
* You will need to be a positive and resilient role model who is willing to work and overcome the boundaries/challenges required to make a positive impact on the pupil’s education and wellbeing.
* You will be working alongside pupils aged 12 – 16 years, some of the pupils have their own specific Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
* The students have varied abilities and you will need to be proficient at delivering tailored, personalised learning routes across KS3 and KS4.
* You will need to work as part of a team, including liaising with teachers, support staff and external agencies to support the learning, behaviour, physical and emotional well-being of students.
* To provide practical support for learning, educational activities, developing social skills and integration.
Role requirements:
* Experience working in an educational setting.
* Previous experience of working with vulnerable students, particularly those highlighted with additional Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) is preferred but not essential.
* Resilience, ability to see through and overcome challenging behaviours to ensure each pupil achieves to their best ability.
* A sense of humour and ability to form relationships quickly.
* A clear enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
* The legal right to work in the UK.
