Teaching & Learning Assistant
The school is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching and Learning Assistant (TLA) to join their dynamic team at a Primary school in Sutton. This exciting opportunity will enable you to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them develop essential skills and thrive in a mainstream setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide personalized therapeutic support to pupils
2. Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to promote holistic learning
3. Utilize trauma-responsive approaches to build trusting relationships with pupils and families
4. Assist in preparing parents/carers for life within the resource base
5. Contribute to assessments, referrals, and progress reporting
Essential Criteria:
1. Proven experience working with pupils with complex SEMH needs
2. Trauma-informed training
3. Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field
4. Ability to work independently and use initiative
5. Committed, dependable, and detail-oriented
6. Resilient, self-reflective, and solution-focused
7. Minimum of 6 months experience in a UK School Environment
Desirable Criteria:
1. Knowledge of emotion coaching, TEACCH, PACE, and Zones of Regulation
2. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
3. Special Education Needs experience personal or professional
