The Urology Service at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Urology Triage Pathway Coordinator. The posts will be based at Burton Hospital. The purpose of the posts is to support the Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team in the clinical triage of all urology 2ww referrals. The posts will help to support the delivery of the faster diagnosis cancer standards, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients at the start of their pathway, including first investigations and ongoing care. The post holders will monitor clinic appointment outcomes, ensure relevant tests are booked, and monitor a result database to ensure timely review of results by a clinician to support the Urology teams across UHDB to meet CWT guidance. The Pathway Coordinator role will involve patient contact as well as supporting the Triage CNS Team with general administration and clerical duties including typing of clinical correspondence, chasing/tracking of MRI/CT/Ultrasound and histology reports, and escalating issues to the Triage CNS Team.
Responsible for managing and organizing your own workload, you must be a confident communicator and able to liaise with clinicians and clinical staff while being able to multi-task. You should also have demonstrable experience of working in a patient-oriented environment. The successful candidate must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to use their own initiative.
