Our trust has over 17,000 staff serving 2 million patients every year. It comprises Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital, North Middlesex University Hospital and more than 30 services in the community. This larger scale organisation provides an unprecedented opportunity for us to continue our pioneering work, particularly in finding ways to deliver even better care to our patients.
Our mission is to deliver world class care and expertise in our clinical services, underpinned by world class teaching and research and we will continue to measure our progress against our five governing objectives: excellent outcomes, excellent patient and staff experience, excellent value for taxpayers’ money, being safe and meeting our external duties, and building a strong organisation.
Everyone is welcome at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. We're proud of our diversity and we continue to undertake new initiatives to advance equality for LGBT+, BME, gender equality, staff carers and people with disabilities and lived experiences to promote good relations and understanding between our staff.
We are inviting applications for a Band 7 Dietitian, whose primary role will involve developing our Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) pathway. The role will include assessment, treatment, and the monitoring outcomes for this client group. Additional duties include supporting emergency admissions and tier 4 admissions that require dietetic management. You will be joining a busy CAMHS eating disorders team in Hampstead, with some travel to different sites.
This is an exciting, new role with opportunities for the post-holder to design and develop the job. We would especially welcome applications from dietitians with skills that could be applicable to this client group, such as neurodiversity, but these are not essential.
We are a friendly and innovative eating disorder team working with young people and their families. Our multi-disciplinary team includes clinical/counselling psychology, nursing, dietetics, psychiatry, psychotherapy, and family therapy, all supported by a friendly admin team.
This is an ideal opportunity for a dietitian with experience of working in eating disorders/child and adolescent mental health, or paediatrics and who wishes to play a key role in service development. You will be joining a small team of specialist dietitians who are fully integrated into the multidisciplinary North Central London specialist eating disorder CAMHS. We can provide all the necessary supervision and support needed to develop the role.
Main duties of the job
Developing the ARFID pathways alongside the MDT ARFID mini team and wider eating disorder team.
Providing nutritional assessment and management in line with family-based treatment and CBT for ARFID to children and young people with eating disorders.
Developing and providing psychoeducation to families of ARFID patients.
Providing consultation and supervision to the team as appropriate.
Liaising with other specialist eating disorder services to share and develop ARFID knowledge and best practices.
Working with tier 4 units, both eating disorder and general, and hospital colleagues to manage disordered eating.
