We're excited to recruiting for this brilliant Sustainability Advisor opportunity, which is available on a fixed term contract until March 2028. This predominantly home based position, with travel throughout Cambridgeshire will be supporting community buildings by providing a comprehensive service that includes conducting energy audits, developing tailored implementation plans and empowering volunteer trustees to successfully carry out sustainability initiatives. You'll provide high quality specialist support to both rural and urban community buildings, including delivering sustainability advice via telephone, email and face to face consultations. A more detailed overview of the role is included below: To deliver energy efficiency advice and support to community building management committees to enable them to work towards their buildings becoming carbon neutral. To design and carry out energy audits of community facilities. To develop tailored action plans to assist community building trustees in implementing sustainability improvements, providing ongoing support and guidance as needed. To assist community building trustees in identifying and applying for suitable funding opportunities for their projects, staying informed about current and upcoming funding schemes and opportunities. To work with the Community Development Officer to plan, organise, deliver and evaluate an annual programme of networking and peer learning events for community facilities across the county. To produce quality communications that raise the profile of the service provided, including producing quality content for website news, blogs and social media posts, delivering a quarterly newsletter, producing case studies, summarising key reports, consultations and opportunities of relevance to communities. To understand and keep up-to-date with legislation and policy affecting communities, disseminating key messages; gathering information and evidence on issues affecting community facilities and working to reduce any barriers that prevent them from contributing to the economic, social and environmental well-being of their area.To raise awareness of the membership benefits so community facilities and other community groups choose to sign up and make use of their services in order to help them run effectively. We'd love to hear from you if you have the following skills, experience and qualifications: Level 6 NVQ, Diploma or Degree in Environmental science, sustainability, energy management, or a related field. Certification in energy auditing or energy management. Understanding of building systems including knowledge of energy efficiency technologies, building materials, insulation, HVAC systems and renewable energy options. Familiarity with broad sustainability topics such as water management, waste reduction, biodiversity and climate adaptation strategies. Funding knowledge. Conducting energy audits.
