As our Graduate Risk Partner, you will be at the heart of all our risk management efforts, working closely with the Risk Manager to embed our Risk Management Framework (RMF) across the organisation. Your mission: empower colleagues with the tools and knowledge they need to manage risks effectively, ensuring our projects run smoothly and successfully whilst adhering to best practice. Please note, this role is a 2-year fixed-term contract opportunity. What you will be doing. Be the go-to expert for colleagues developing and delivering WMCA projects. Provide invaluable guidance on creating robust project risk registers and applying RMF principles. Gather and review compliance assurance information, helping the Business Management Panel, Risk Manager, and Head of Internal Audit make strategic decisions on risk mitigation. Regularly review and refine operational and directorate risk registers, ensuring they are up-to-date and comprehensive for Designated Sign-Off and Leadership team meetings. Collaborate with Directors and Managers to maintain the Strategic Risk Register, consistently identifying and assessing new risks. Work with the Risk Manager to develop cutting-edge solutions for risk management, leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance transparency. Why Join Us? Experience of working through a problem or question to identify effective / pragmatic solutions. Evidence of analysing a range of information, and drawing out the salient points. Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative to manage a varied workload and prioritise work to meet deadlines. A relevant Degree (or other level 6 qualification). What’s desirable. Experience of providing support to others. Evidence of producing reports and presentations for a range of purposes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and colleagues across the WMCA. High levels of honesty, probity, integrity, and confidentiality. Able to collaborate and be a team player, providing practical and pragmatic support to colleagues. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Good analytical and organisational skills, able to review information and determine the best approach. A willingness to undertake additional learning and develop new skills.
